College Football Predictions

Jacory Harris Miami

#9 Miami vs. #11: Virginia Tech: Can Miami keep their foot on the gas pedal? Everybody is jumping on this team’s bandwagon and some are wondering if “The U” is back. Randy Shannon has this offense headed in the right direction and quarterback Jacory Harris will have another solid game against Virginia Tech’s defense. Expect the Hurricane to be ranked in the top-five and “The U” will receive some first place votes. Hurricanes win 27-21.

#6 Cal vs. Oregon: Cal has won every game by at least 14 points this season and running back Jahvid Best has been the most dominant player in the country. Oregon looks improved after the Week One lost to Boise State, but quarterback Jermiah Masoli has yet to throw a touchdown on the season. Golden Bears win 38-17.

#15 TCU vs. Clemson: The Horned Frogs look to go 2-0 against ACC teams as they already bet Virginia 30-14. Defensive end Jerry Hughes will put pressure on Clemson’s offense all day and the Tigers need running back C.J. Spiller to have a huge game for this team to pull the upset. Horned Frogs win 21-10.

Blowout Alert: #18 Florida State vs. South Florida: I would have picked South Florida to pull the upset before quarterback Matt Grothe suffered a season-ending ACL tear. B.J. Daniels is from Tallahassee, but he will struggle against the Seminoles’ defense. Seminoles win 38-14.

Upset Alert: Southern Miss over # 20 Kansas: The Jayhawks have won 19 straight non-conference games at home, but Southern Miss comes in town with the sixth best run defense and the second-longest winning streak in the country. Running back Damion Fletcher is looking for his fourth straight season with over 1,300 yards. Golden Eagles win 28-24.
