Since a douchey commenter wants to call our credibility into question, here’s a little background on the Memphis post from earlier. What we first told you about West stepping down 2 months ago, is still true according to sources.
The decision to step down is West’s. If Porter isn’t the guy once this all shakes out, we’ll be shocked. Don’t be surprised if Malzhan makes the final cut, though.
The others on the list may be gauged, but just as a formality.
Memphis A.D. RC Johnson is denying the report, but we’ll stand by it. Much like the Richard Gere gerbil story, you can only hear something from so many sources and before you believe it (hat tip to Kevin Williamson for that line).
There’s also a LOT of talk that Louisville may be interested in Phillip Fulmer. Word from our hometown is that the school would not be interested.

I know Porter is solid, but if Malzahn is interested ... would Porter realistically beat him out? I will hang up and listen to your answer.
The comment and I quote, "you can only hear something from so many sources and before you believe it" is that concept from the 'Chicken Little' School of Journalism? Just hearing it over and over makes it true? Is it the 20th time you hear it or the 10th or the 50th that makes it true?
That was kind of a joke, dude. Just wanted to make the Richard Gere reference. I meant that you can only have so many different sources tell you the same thing before you believe it...regardless of denials.
