NFL: Week 2 Overreactions

  • Someone forgot to tell the 49ers that they don’t have good football players. We’ve never really been very partial to San Fran, but if we were we would name our first born Michael Singletary West whether it was male or female. The Niners have not just beaten the perceived top two teams in their division, they’ve physically humbled them. Imagine what Singletary could do with the talent in Dallas.
  • Let’s not go naming a street in Hackensack after Rex Ryan just yet. We like his brashness, but remember that Eric Mangini was nicknamed Mangenius during his inaugural campaign. Give it time; he could morph in to Buddy Jr. at any moment.
  • It feels amazing to watch Tom Brady take hits like a normal QB. The guy went almost half a decade without really taking a beating. We mean no schadenfreude towards Mr. Giselle, it just makes us giddy to know that he understands where David Carr is coming from.
  • We were dangerously close to having the Titans, Pats, and Chargers all start the season 0-2. The former needs to shore up the secondary. The latter two have serious OL issues. With Chicago beating the Steelers are the Jets the best looking team in the AFC so far?
  • Can we dispense with all of the “addition by subtraction” talk in Big D? It was a week 1 victory against Tampa Bay, people. The real Cowboys stood up on Monday. Speaking of which:
  • What up with the Giants front 7? They allowed how many yards rushing to the Cowboys?
  • Atlanta is making a puch to replace the Titans as the best team that no one wants to watch. Man are they brutal. For those of you outside of the greater Knoxville area, we get Titans games on our local CBS affiliate and Falcons games on the local Fox station. It amazes me that people in Tennessee even watch the NFL
