The balance of power is about to turn in the AFC. The Indianapolis Cols are the best team in the AFC and they are about to get better. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 4-2 and are tied with the Cincinnati Bengals for the best record in the AFC North. Teams should have delivered the knockout punch when they had the chance, because the Steelers are about to become the second best team in the AFC. Why am I am so high on both of these teams? They both get their star safeties back this weekend.
Troy Polamalu is the Peyton Manning of the Steelers’ defense. There are 15 defenses that have given up fewer points than the Steelers and this is not a normal stat for the Steelers. Now that Polamalu is back, expect the Steelers to dominate once again on defense. The Steelers next three games are against the Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals. Expect the Steelers to win at least two of these games and don’t be surprised when the Steelers are the first team to beat the undefeated Vikings and Broncos.
Everybody talks about the dominating Denver Broncos’ defense, but the Indianapolis Colts are not far behind. This team needs the experience of Sanders to advance far in the playoffs and the Colts have found their swagger with Sanders coming back. There is a good chance that these two teams will meet in the AFC Championship game and I expect the Steelers to advance to the Super Bowl.
