Should Georgia go After Charlie Strong?

Charlie Strong

Fans have no patience in today's college football world and the biggest example of this is in Athens, Ga. For some reason, there is talk that Georgia coach Mark Richt is on the hot seat in Athens. Georgia fans support Richt, but there are members of the media that actually think Richt could get fired after the season. This reminds me of Jeff Fisher's situation with the Tennessee Titans. Fisher and Richt are both struggling with their teams, but both of these coaches will have a new job within minutes of their firing.

What coach could do better than the job Richt has done at Georgia? I don't see one out there, but Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union thinks Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong would be a great choice for Georgia or any other school that is looking for a new coach. Under Strong's watch at Florida, the Gators' defense has always been one of the best in the nation. It is a shame that Strong hasn't been hired to be a head coach, but his day could be coming soon.

  • I think Gene Frenette should just go find another job. Maybe Mike Tyson should take over your job. Hmmm doesn't sound so good when you offer someone elses job out that you have no absolute clue does it.
