Tennessee's coach Lane Kiffin picked up his first career win as the coach of Tennessee as the Vols beat Western Kentucky 63-7. Quarterback Jonathan Crompton completed 21 of 28 passes for 233 yards while throwing five touchdowns and two interceptions. Running back Montario Hardesty had 160 rushing yards on 18 carries and freshmen running backs Bryce Brown and David Oku had 146 total rushing yards and three touchdowns. Kiffin following through with his promise that freshmen will see playing time as Marsalis Teague also had 86 receiving yards. Tennessee fans need to remember that Western Kentucky is a horrible team, but this was the perfect start for Lane Kiffin's career in Knoxville.
