Three Arrested Vols to Miss Ole Miss Game

Janzen Jackson

Even though some Tennessee fans were hoping this morning that safety Janzen Jackson would play against Ole Miss on Saturday, Tennessee spokeswoman Tiffany Carpenter says the Vols will travel to Oxford without Jackson, freshman wide receiver Nu'Keese Richardson and defensive back Mike Edwards. The three freshmen were charged with attempted armed robbery for demanding money from three men at the Pilot gas station on The Strip in Knoxville. It would have been a PR nightmate if Lane Kiffin let Jackson play in this game. Everything is adding up to Jackson staying on the team, while the other two players get kicked off the team. Richardson is still in jail and it will be interesting to see how long he stays in jail. Other SEC coaches have to love the fact that Kiffin can't brag anymore about being arrest-free. Should Kiffin take another "shot" at Urban Meyer and suspend Jackson only for the first half of the Vanderbilt game?
